Step #21, & Our Last Dinner as a DINK Couple

Hmm, the title of this post sounds kinda dreary but it’s not meant to be.. lol.

Well, well.. as Yuan anticipated, this 5 days of leave will pass by really quickly just as the maternity leave would (he says v soon it will be Christmas, CNY & before I know it I’ll be back to work!) Alamak.

Actually I’m just hoping the hospital stay will pass by quickly – not a fan of doctors/ hospitals/ needles. But what to do, we can’t lay eggs like motherhens & gg to the hospital for some major procedure (natural or not) to get the baby out is inevitable.. sigh. As I have said before, we are less evolved in this aspect than chickens la! :P

So.. tonight’s meal marks our last as a DINK couple (not counting the furkids). Hubby suggested eating our dear crustacean frens again – from Melben Seafood @ Toa Payoh. Sounds good, ‘tho we just had crabs for Mummy’s b’day dinner!

Chilli crab wif 15 buns!?! (I think Hubby ate 11) & salted egg cum cheese crab

Couldn’t resist taking another pic of the bouquet, which now adorns the dining table. By the time I’m back on Sat it would have withered.. :/

The gals this evening – with zzzpy faces! I’m gonna miss them much while @ the hospital, I know..

Praying for good behaviour.. it’s kinda their naughty week (or naughty 2 weeks :/).

Last but not least, Step #21 – not much of a step but since I took a pic I might as well post it up! :P Waterproofing Yuzhe’s bathstation to protect the laminated table top.. keke.

In prepration for tml – as Mel put it – FIGHTING!!! lol. Is this a Korean thing, becoz I 1st heard this being said by Koreans in a Taiwan singing competition? Haa. Anyhow, just wanna add that I’m really really touched by all my frens’ words of concern/ encouragement.. & the many offers of prayers :D I am indeed blessed for having you all. *hugs*

FIGHTING!!!

Thoughts, & Step #20

It’s the last weekend we’re spending together as a couple!

(Technically speaking we have 2 furkids but I guess a human kid is going to be quite different from a furkid.)

I recall Wee Cheng on her last day of work before she had Doudou/大象/Rachel, & she mentioned having a last dinner wif her Hubby before the baby comes. Now I know how that feels.. it’s a strange feeling.

One may suggest that we go out & have a super nice dinner/ good food to enjoy our weekend before the baby comes. But I neither have the appetite nor the energy to do that – “lightening” certainly did not happen for me (yet) – he’s not engaged at all, & sometimes I feel full just by looking at the food! Plus he’s not exactly a light baby.. walking ard with a watermelon tummy does not appeal to me in any way..

SO.. I figured the best way is to spend quality time at home wif Hubby, & the 2 gals! Afterall I think it would be some time before we can enjoy the same peace & quiet in this house again :P

Step #20 on Zachary’s bathstation is below..

Hee that’s our wedding bathtub! & on the wall notes from WBB’s class.. :D

Step #17, 18, 19

Hee, more photos! We finally got down to adding some of the cot accessories – though the really essential stuff like the sheets should still have to wait. :) Have also unpacked his ‘equipment’ (e.g. steriliser) & read the manuals on how to use them.. haa.. so many things to learn! Not to mention I forgot 90% of what I learnt from WBB’s class le.. oops. It’s catching up time!!!

Yuan & I absolutely *heart* this musical cot accessory from Lamaze which can belt out soothing tunes & make cute bug sounds! There are lovely flashing lights too, though not so obvious in this pic. Have been itching to put it up. :D Oh ya & now, gloworm’s the ‘guinea pig’ for testing out all the items haha

Have also installed the Disney baby musical mobile from dear Elly! Hee. Gloworm’s testing out the changing mat from IKEA too.

Finally loaded up my fancy diaper caddy from Motherswork haha. The bath basket holds his bathing things.. :D

Step #16 & More!

This will be a photolog more than anything else.. hee.. lazy.

Step #16 – ZACH letters from Cotton On Kids! Yuan thinks my arrangement is ugly so we’re still thinking of some better way of arranging the letters on Yuzhe’s room door.. haa.

Today’s the 10th anniversary of the Sept 11 attacks.. *gulp* it didn’t seem so long ago actually. Timeline of preps as of today..

Yay! Received the gloworm toy from Amazon from Yuzhe’s 姨姨&姨丈 yester! It’s so adorable, & can belt out 6 soothing lullaby tunes. The face glows up too *likes* He’s zzzping in Yuzhe’s cot on Yuzhe’s beansprout pillow now.. hahaha.

Hee.. nautical-theme centerpiece from Robinsons for Yuzhe’s party.. haa!

Step #13 & 14

Finally, Yuzhe’s new curtains are ready for collection! *happy happy*

The shop la, say shipment of the cloth was delayed but anyhow, we’re quite pleased with the final product (price & quality) =P

Hehe & it goes well wif the theme of Yuzhe’s full mth party too – nautical! ^^ Check it out below:

Binded up..

When put down – there’re fishes, sharks, octopuses, tortoises, starfishes & even seahorses in a sea of striking blue! Hee!

Also in the nautical theme – Yuzhe’s pirate bookends from Cotton On Kids, wif the small collection of books which Yuanyuan & I bought!

Another Long Weekend! =D

Yay, I love long weekends *wink*

It started wif an early Fri off ‘coz it was our appt with Zachary again! (Now rather frequent ‘coz it’s once every 2 weeks). Didn’t get to see his face at all ‘coz he was facing downwards & inwards (supposedly navigating to the right position for delivery – but position can still change; it’s still early). Checked wif Josephine & was told that the 3D probe + imaging device is spoilt & would not be replaced till 6 months later – so I guess we would not have any more Zachary pics.. sob sob..

He’s doing fine, ‘tho his elevated heartbeat during the visit worried me abit. Wonder what got him so excited.. hmm. Anyhow, he’s gaining weight real fast! 500g in 2 weeks & is now 2.2+ kg. He seems to be getting closer to the average line now.. not really below average anymore. Gordon Lim said he should end up being ard 3kg. =)

After the check, Hubby & I had our usual shopping & dinner date! =) We had Sakae Teppanyaki for dinner @ PS – haven’t had it in a lonnnnnggg while. The representing pic, of the Boston lobster is below kekeke:

Yumz. Only 1/2 of it is ours.

——————

Yesterday, it was voting followed by our graduating class @ WBB’s! It was an enjoyable session on feeding & she told alot of jokes, hahaha. I guess I must start reorganising the notes I have from her class for future use.. didn’t regret signing up for the classes =)

At night – watching the PE results on CNA! We waited till 1+ when they announced the need for recounting & decided that’s it – we weren’t going to stay up 3 hrs more. The gals were damn tired too ‘coz they were ‘watching’ wif us.. hee.

Yuan has also proceeded to wash Zachary’s clothes, 0 – 12 mths. Now, isn’t that ALOT of clothes for a little baby tsk tsk tsk.

WBB Teaches Hands-on Babycare

Haa.. this lesson was much anticipated ‘coz we heard that we can buy some essentials during the class! It was also less zzz-provoking ‘coz every couple had a doll to play wif (i.e. it’s not just listening to her talking or looking at slides).

The dolls look kinda creepy ‘tho.. our baby boy doll had sneaky Chinese eyes which were pulled slightly upwards at the sides.. haa. And they all have different expressions – some kinda expressionless (like ours), some zzzpy, some yawning & some looking v happy. Haha.

The Daddies did most of the work – practising the various holds & learning how to bath & dress & handle the baby. I guess she wanted to emphasise their part to play, i.e. it’s not just the duty of the Mum!

& we also realised that she is kinda anti-maid & anti-confinement lady.. all the stories she told us abt maids mishandling the baby leading to serious injuries, as well as silly old fashioned things confinement ladies do is really scary.. we reckoned that she wanted to put across the msg that the parents should always always be the primary care-givers & not the maid.. I’ll be sure to be watching the confinement lady much more closely man.. ..

It’s the last class next week le, so fast!
